LOVING, SERVING, AND GROWING THE KINGDOM ONE PERSON AT A TIME

2 Corinthians 4:16

"So we do not give up. Our physical body is becoming older and weaker, but our spirit inside us is made new every day." (NCV)

What is God saying?

We are more than just the outwardly decaying body that we see in the mirror; with God's help our inner-being is still in the prime of life. Having a perpetually young spirit helps us to keep going no matter what obstacles we might face physically.

What is God saying to us today?

We see the effects of sin all around us. More than that, we feel the effects of sin with each passing year, as it gets more difficult to get out of bed in the morning, it takes longer to recover from an injury, we develop a deeper interest in anti-wrinkle creams or hair dyes.  But there is more to us than our bodies, we have an inner spirit that God promises to renew within us daily! We can let our spirits to deteriorate, but that is much more of a choice we make than letting our bodies become "older and weaker." If we allow God to recreate our spirits on a daily basis, we should find lasting hope and encouragement, because if we experience God's spiritual renewal, we know that He can keep His promise to renew/resurrect our bodies as well.

What is God inviting us to do?

Have the years taken their toll on you? Are you experiencing physical decline? How about spiritual deterioration? God promises to be a spiritual fountain of youth and by experiencing that, we find hope that He will eventually provide a physical fountain of youth as well. He invites us to allow Him to renew our spirits every day, will you accept that invitation?
