"Christ had no sin, but God made him become sin so that in Christ we could become right with God." (NCV)
What is God saying?
Jesus became sin - the very thing He wasn't - in order for humanity to be reunited with God.
What is God saying to us today?
What is the worst type of person out there? Maybe it's a murderer, maybe an animal abuser, or perhaps a child molester. It would be pretty horrific for us to wake up one morning and find that we had become such a person, right? I doubt any of us would ever voluntarily choose to become the worst kind of person we could imagine. But, what if by you becoming a child molester, for example, that would mean all other molesters were cured of their repulsive desires? Not just that, but you had to become the worst molester ever. Would any of us choose to do that? Yet this is the choice that Jesus made, only He did it to a much larger extreme. He became the worst of all us, even though He was the best, so that we all could be reconnected with God.
What is God inviting us to do?
How has your sin separated you from God? He invites to reconnect with Him, regardless of what our past and current sins might, because Jesus has already taken care of all of our sins on the cross.
