LOVING, SERVING, AND GROWING THE KINGDOM ONE PERSON AT A TIME

Ephesians 4:32

"Be kind and loving to each other, and forgive each other just as God forgave you in Christ." (NCV)

What is God saying?

His example of forgiveness and love is what His followers are to display in their own lives.

What is God saying to us today?

Kindness and love seem to be in increasingly shorter supply these days. We are quick to draw lines in the sand to show the difference between "us" and "them" - liberals and conservatives, immigrants and natives, Christians and non-Christians, etc. Each side is rather quick to say disparaging things about the other, because the other side is so completely, obviously wrong that they are not worth of respect, much less kindness and love. And yet, if anyone had the right to never cross the boundary and interact with the other side, it was God. Because of sin, we were His legitimate enemies, but despite that fact, God forgave us through Christ and continues to love and forgive us.

What is God inviting us to do?

Who is it that you feel justified in not loving or forgiving? God invites us to follow His example and show kindness, love, and forgiveness to everyone - regardless of how worthy they are.
