God’s followers can expect to win, because God provides the victory.
What is God saying to us today?
The prosperity gospel has seeped into Christianity in a significant way, at least in America. Even if we don’t claim the “get rich quick” promises of certain preachers, by and large we expect to be blessed with good things. I follow God so I deserve a good job, house, car, etc. and so we work hard to get those things that we deserve. And while there is nothing wrong with having nice things, and the Bible is clear that God enjoys blessing His followers, sometimes we let those things distract us from Him. More than that, we start thinking that we are responsible for the good things, the victories, in our lives, but we need to remember that God really is the source.
What is God inviting us to do?
When is the last time you truly recognized God as the source of goodness in your life? God invites us to enjoy the victories He gives us, and to give Him praise as the source of those victories.
