What is God saying?
Doers of evil thrive in darkness, because they don't want to be exposed. Doers of good welcome exposure, because their actions point to God.
What is God saying to us today?
As followers of God we should live our lives transparently, with nothing to hide. If there are things that we do want to hide about our deeds or our character, those are the very things that need exposure to the cleansing effects of light, so that the darkness does not remain and increase. When we are open and honest about our sinful deeds it helps us never want to do them again. This is easier said than done though; it's hard to admit our sins, because evil does indeed love darkness. So, it is important that we find a loving, compassionate, graceful support system - be it a church, a small group, a pastor, or a spiritual companion - where we can find help as we follow the true way into the light.
What is God inviting us to do?
Do you find it easier to come to the light or avoid the light? God invites us to live a transparent and light-filled life, because that not only is the best way for us to live, but it also gives glory to Him.
