LOVING, SERVING, AND GROWING THE KINGDOM ONE PERSON AT A TIME

Psalms 68:5

"God, who lives in his holy palace, is a father to orphans, and he takes care of widows." (ERV)

What is God saying?

While God might not live in an earthly palace, He still cares for people who are vulnerable.

What is God saying to us today?

Father's Day is a wonderful day of celebration, if you've had father worth celebrating. Unfortunately, so many people have experienced life without having a quality father, whether through death, abandonment, or abuse. It is difficult for those of us who have missed out on having a loving and supportive father to relate to God as a "heavenly father" and yet this is exactly what He is. God might not take us camping, teach us about sports, grill food for us, or whatever else earthly fathers do, but He does love us, support us, and instruct us on how to become better people. In fact, He does these things even better than the best earthly fathers can do, because He is perfect and He loves us perfectly!

What is God inviting us to do?

Have you struggled in your relationship with your earthly father? Regardless of whether our fathers have been good, bad, or absent, God invites us to claim Him as our father - a father who loves us, guides us, and wants the best for us eternally!
