What is God saying?
God promises to always be there to protect His followers when Satan attacks.
What is God saying to us today?
Satan, or the Evil One, doesn't seem to get a lot of attention these days (outside of Halloween costumes and certain horror movies). When it comes to spiritual things, God gets the vast majority of the attention. This is how it should be - it's important to put the First Thing first. But, we also can't ignore and dismiss the truth that there is an Adversary, an Evil One out there. Satan is working hard to oppose God, which means he is also working hard to oppose God's followers. And we can't just go about our lives like this is not the case, because the Evil One is really, really good at his job! But, the good news is that God is even better at His job - at His work of salvation. And while we as Christians need to be vigilant when it comes to Satan's attacks, we have the assurance that victory isn't dependent upon our vigilance, because God is always faithful to strengthen and protect us.
What is God inviting us to do?
Are you afraid of facing the Evil One on your own power? God invites us to let Him protect us, to fight on our behalf, and we don't have to worry because He will never let us down!
